Supersized SmackDown Results: Brock Lesnar delivers final shot at Roman Reigns; Top Champion pinned

Edge kicked off SuperSized SmackDown and after a recap of his feud so far with Seth Rollins, he said that this time he knows what The Messiah is capable of and he won’t hold back.

Edge complimented Seth’s abilities in the ring and compared the former Universal Champ to himself before saying that he would scar Rollins’ soul at Crown Jewel. He said he planned to put their rivalry to rest no matter what it takes before walking out.


Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn – King of the Ring Tournament Semifinals on SmackDown

Sami got some strikes in early on but Balor turned things around with a sling blade. Sami was tossed out of the ring before Balor hit a huge dive to the outside. After a break on SmackDown, Balor got a massive Pele kick before sending him into the ring post on the apron.

Sami blocked a superplex and went for a dive but Finn got his knees up. Zayn hit the Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall before getting an exploder into the corner. Finn dodged the Helluva Kick but Sami tried to pin him with his feet on the ropes.

The ref warned Sami and the count was broken before Balor missed the Coupe de Grace. Balor hit the double stomp a second time and finally hit the Coupe de Grace for the win.

Result: Finn Balor def. Sami Zayn

Naomi vs. Sonya Deville & Shayna Baszler on SmackDown

 

Sonya Deville came out before the match started and announced that Shayna Baszler would also be part of the match, making this a two-on-one bout.

Sonya slapped Naomi as the bell rang and left the ring before the former Women’s Champion tried to run after her. Sonya and Baszler managed to corner her in the ring and it turned into an actual mugging.

Naomi fought back on SmackDown with some kicks but Sonya got some strikes in before Baszler locked in the Khirifuda Clutch and made the former Women’s Champion pass out. Deville pinned her with one foot and picked up the win.

We got a short promo for Hit Row before SmackDown continued with Seth Rollins walking out to the ring.

Rollins got in the ring and made fun of Edge, saying that he had no chance in the match. The Messiah kept saying how he was better than Edge and said that he had both the physical and mental advantage over the Hall of Famer.

Rollins added, however, that Edge was counting on the Hell in a Cell match being his only advantage, but Rollins was not afraid of the cell and said that he had spent more time in the structure than him.

Backstage, Zelina advised Carmella to fight their next match without putting on the mask she had been using recently.

Zelina Vega vs. Carmella – Queen’s Crown Tournament Semi-Finals on SmackDown

Vega went for an early rollup on SmackDown but Carmella got out of it. Mella locked in an armbar before striking her in the face and drawing blood. Vega was furious and started unloading on Mella before she fled the ring and went to get her mask from ringside.

Carmella was about to have her mask put on when Liv Morgan showed up and snatched it away. Mella had no choice but to return to the ring where Vega rolled her up instantly and picked up the win.

Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss were out for their talk show and Moss gave us a joke about a hen with ‘egg-sistential’ crisis. The jokes were getting worse as they kept talking and Boogs and Shinsuke interrupted them with their entrance.

Shinsuke and Boogs were followed by The Street Profits and the two teams celebrated together before the Profits were getting ready to face The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team itles.

The two teams started things off on SmackDown in the ring together and Dawkins took Jey outside while Jimmy and Ford were in the ring.

The Usos managed to take out Dawkins and Ford one by one with double team moves before the challengers retaliated and brought tables out from under the ring.

The Usos took out the challengers before we headed for a break. Back on SmackDown, the champs attacked The Street Profits with Kendo Sticks and wiped out Dawkins in the ring.

Ford took them out with a crossbody from the top rope and attacked Jimmy with a steel chair before getting a near fall. Ford hit a superkick and the Profits hit their finisher on Jey before Dawkins attacked him with the Kendo Stick.

Jimmy interrupted the next double-team move and hit double superkicks on both opponents before getting a near fall on Dawkins. Ford and Dawkins got the Anointment to the From the Heavens combo but Montez was dragged out of the ring and put through a table by Jey before he could get the pin.

Dawkins ate about four superkicks and a double frog splash before getting pinned!

Result: The Usos def. The Street Profits to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Titles

Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks on SmackDown

Bianca Belair came out on SmackDown to watch the match. Sasha went for an early rollup before Becky tried for the Disarmher. Banks went for the Banks Statement to counter her.

Becky dodged a knee strike and Banks went into the ring post before the match continued in the ring. Becky took the three amigos suplexes for a near fall before Banks took a legdrop from the ropes.

Banks sent Becky into the ringpost and hit the Meteora twice before hitting a third one from the ropes for a near fall. Becky dodged a Backstabber and rolled out of the ring before she managed to hit a legdrop on the apron off a counter.

Banks locked the Banks Statement in at ringside before taking it back to ring. Banks hit a Frog Splash for a near fall before getting yet another near fall. Sasha dodged a legdrop before Becky shoved Banks into Belair by accident at ringside.

Banks dodged a strike and Bianca took the hit before The Boss took Becky out off the distraction. Back in the ring, Banks hit a Frog Splash but Becky got her knees up. Becky hit a series of uppercuts but missed the Manhandle Slam.

Banks got the Backstabber on SmackDown before Belair almost whipped Lynch from outside with her hair. Banks hit a backstabber on Lynch and picked up the win.

Result: Sasha Banks def. Becky Lynch

Grade: A+


Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar were out next on SmackDown for the Crown Jewel match contract signing. Lesnar sat down first while Reigns was standing and Roman handed Heyman the contract to look it over.

Heyman confirmed that everything was to Roman’s liking before Reigns signed it. Brock put pen to paper as well and Roman made fun of him for not even reading it

Brock said he read the contract this morning with his advocate, Paul Heyman, before walking out. Reigns was shocked and stood in the ring as the show went off the air.

Edge kicked off SmackDown and fired off at Rollins who had some remarks of his own for the Hall of Famer. Sonya Deville made her return to in-ring action while Zelina Vega and Finn Balor advanced to the Finals of the Queen’s Crown and King of the Ring tournaments on tonight’s SuperSized SmackDown.
