WWE Extreme Rules: 5 finishes to Roman Reigns vs “The Demon” Finn Balor match for the Universal Championship

WWE Extreme Rules will host some of the biggest matches of the year. However, none of the matches will be as big as the Extreme Rules match between Roman Reigns and Finn Balor for the Universal Championship.

What will make the contest special is the fact that Balor’s alter-ego “The Demon” will come out to face The Tribal Chief. Reigns awoke The Demon during his match against Balor on SmackDown a couple of weeks ago.

Many fans will know that The Demon character is undefeated on the main roster. The last time Balor lost as The Demon was against Samoa Joe in WWE NXT. Extreme Rules will present Balor with a chance to win back the title he never lost.

Meanwhile, Reigns will do everything he can to retain his Universal Championship. He wants to continue as The Head of the Table in WWE, and The Bloodline will likely help him during the contest.

The match will be explosive and give fans a contest they’ve never seen before. The Extreme Rules stipulation will ensure a clear result rather than a disqualification or no-contest.

With that being said, take a look at the five possible finishes to the match between Roman Reigns and “The Demon” Finn Balor at Extreme Rules.

#5. The Usos interfere to save Roman Reigns from defeat at WWE Extreme Rules

Reigns has had a really good reign with the Universal Championship. He’s put down legends and Hall of Famers to successfully keep the title around his waist. During many of his defense, the Usos have helped him take the upper hand and pick up the win.

At Extreme Rules, Reigns will look to put down “The Demon” to extend his reign. The Demon character has been protected for a long time. This could force the creative team to book an ending that protects both superstars in the contest.

WWE could possible bring in the Usos to do the job and interfere during the match. Jimmy and Jey could arrive at a time when Reigns is close to losing the match and attack The Demon before handing him to The Tribal Chief to lock in the Guillotine.

Balor could recover from the beatdown and take down all three men to end the segment. The angle will allow WWE to keep the Universal Championship on Reigns while protecting Finn Balor at Extreme Rules.

Balor could find a partner following Extreme Rules to take on The Usos in a few matches in the weeks that follow. The creative team could then revisit the rivalry between Balor and Reigns post-Crown Jewel.

#4. Joseph Fatu debuts to help Roman Reigns win at WWE Extreme Rules

WWE could follow in AEW’s footsteps and debut some newcomers at Extreme Rules pay-per-view. AEW has made it a habit to debut former WWE Superstars and other wrestlers at big events.

Joseph Fatu was recently signed by WWE. In case you didn’t know, Joseph is The Usos’ brother and Roman Reigns’ cousin.

The Usos are already working with Roman Reigns to make up The Bloodline. Joseph could join the faction at Extreme Rules to make an impact right away.

At the pay-per-view, Joseph could show up during the match between Reigns and “The Demon” Finn Balor. He could come out dressed as an evil entity, and fans could be made to believe that he’s out to help The Demon.

Joseph could interfere and attack Balor during the contest, allowing Reigns to win. The angle could allow The Tribal Chief to nail Balor with a Spear and retain his Universal Championship.

It could be the perfect way to debut Joseph while leaving the door open to a rematch between Reigns and Balor.

#3. “The Demon’ Finn Balor pins Roman Reigns clean to win the Universal Championship at WWE Extreme Rules

“The Demon” Finn Balor will walk into Extreme Rules with a chance to win the Universal Championship again. Balor was the first man to win the Universal Championship, but an unfortunate injury never allowed his title reign to take off.

This won’t be the first time Balor will challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship. Reigns offered Balor a shot at the title right after winning it during his first reign in August 2018. Balor recently got his second shot at Reigns’ title on SmackDown.

He was unsuccessful at winning the title both times, but The Demon could look to finish the job. At Extreme Rules, WWE could give Balor an unexpected win against The Tribal Chief.

Balor could go on a roll from the opening bell and dominate Reigns with ease during the contest. He could hit the Coup de Grace within minutes to pin The Tribal Chief for the first time and take home the Universal Championship.

While the ending is unlikely, it could switch things around and make Balor the top man in WWE again.

#2. Roman Reigns chokes out “The Demon” Finn Balor at WWE Extreme Rules

Extreme Rules will present Reigns with another chance to prove he’s The Head of the Table in WWE. Reigns has not been pinned since returning as The Tribal Chief at SummerSlam last year.

He has been dominant in his title defenses, and even beat Edge and Daniel Bryan in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 37. He’ll face “The Demon”, the only other character that has remained unpinned on the main roster.

Balor is known to be one of the toughest superstars in WWE. Reigns could continue to prove why he’s leading SmackDown and dominate The Demon.

Reigns could be allowed to beat down Balor and lock in the Guillotine Choke to make the former NXT Champion pass out. The Extreme Rules stipulation will help Reigns take advantage of the weapons around the arena.

WWE will be looking to end The Demon’s winning streak at some point, and Reigns will be the perfect man to hand him his first defeat at Extreme Rules.

The ending will give Reigns an even bigger boost and cement him as The Head of the Table in WWE.

#1. Brock Lesnar destroys Roman Reigns and “The Demon” Finn Balor at WWE Extreme Rules

Universal Champion Roman Reigns will defend his title at WWE Extreme Rules. However, his next assignment has already been set. Reigns will face Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel, and fans will expect The Tribal Chief to bring his Universal Championship to the fight.

It will be difficult for the creative team to book a clean loss for Reigns or “The Demon” Finn Balor at Extreme Rules. Many argue that the creative team may have booked itself into a corner.

However, the higher-ups could use Lesnar to get them out of that corner at the pay-per-view. During the final moments of the contest, The Beast Incarnate could appear to lay waste to both the competitors and leave them in a heap.

Balor could then vent his frustration at The Beast Incarnate and fall to a Spear from Reigns. The ending could give WWE a chance to book another big match following Crown Jewel. The winner of the match in Saudi Arabia could go on to face The Demon for the title after Crown Jewel to give fans another big contest.
