5 Bold predictions for WWE Extreme Rules: Roman Reigns’ faction gets a new member, Former champion returns as a heel
We are just a few days away from Extreme Rules 2021, set to take place on September 26, 2021, live from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
Advertised as “the one night that WWE goes extreme”, the company has surprisingly not announced any stipulations for the matches on the card except for one. Hopefully, there will be some last-minute stipulation announcements.
Nonetheless, a total of six matches have been announced so far with five titles on the line. WWE’s last pay-per-view, SummerSlam 2021, saw fans get multiple surprises and twists. If that is anything to go by, Extreme Rules this Sunday could be an exciting show.
Let’s take a look at five bold predictions for Extreme Rules 2021. Be sure to comment down and let us know your thoughts on the same and predictions for the pay-per-view.
#5 Naomi turns heel and joins Roman Reigns and The Usos at WWE Extreme Rules

The Bloodline has established itself as the most dominating faction in WWE currently. Led by Universal Champion Roman Reigns, the faction has huge potential to bring in new members and give their careers a push.
At Extreme Rules, we might see a new member join hands with Reigns and The Usos. This could be none other than former SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi. Married to Jimmy Uso in real life, she fits perfectly into the whole family theme of the faction.

Over the last few weeks, Naomi has been having issues with authority figure Sonya Deville, who hasn’t given her an opportunity. Frustrated by this, she might just snap and join hands with The Tribal Chief.
Having a female representative would further strengthen The Bloodline and push Naomi back to the top of SmackDown’s women’s division. There are so many stories that WWE could tell if they go ahead with this.
#4 Brock Lesnar interferes in the Universal Championship match at WWE Extreme Rules
Extreme Rules 2021 would see Roman Reigns defend his Universal title against “The Demon” Finn Balor. As exciting as this match-up is, a clean finish would hurt one of the stars. It’s highly unlikely that Reigns will drop his title this Sunday, but The Demon losing clean might lead to some major fan backlash. Remember, he is undefeated on the main roster.
Instead of a clean finish, we might see Brock Lesnar interfere in the Universal Championship match at Extreme Rules. It has already been announced that Lesnar will face Reigns at the upcoming Crown Jewel pay-per-view. His interference might lead to that match becoming a triple-threat, also involving Balor.
This would ensure WWE can extend the feud between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar to multiple pay-per-views, rather than just wrapping up with a singles match at Crown Jewel.
#3 Keith Lee returns as a monster heel at WWE Extreme Rule

Extreme Rules 2021 could see the return of former NXT Champion Keith Lee to WWE TV. Lee hasn’t appeared on RAW for over a month now but continues to wrestle dark matches before shows.
Recent reports suggest that Vince McMahon is planning to change his character up and make him a monster heel. Following these reports, he was seen bringing back his old bearded look and was also addressed as Keith “Bearcat” Lee in his dark match earlier this week.
We might see Lee return at the event this Sunday, destroy United States Champion Damian Priest and begin a feud with him. His stay on the main roster so far hasn’t been great but that could change soon.
#2 Lilly comes to life at WWE Extreme Rules
Extreme Rules 2021 will see Charlotte Flair defend her RAW Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss. The current gimmick of Bliss with Lilly hasn’t gone well with fans. While the doll might lead to good merchandise sales for WWE, fans aren’t much invested to see it in a ring.
The company could pull off a major twist at the pay-per-view this Sunday by letting the doll come to life. There are multiple stars who could be in contention to play Lilly on WWE TV.
Vince McMahon’s promotion could go with an already established superstar but this also is a great opportunity to create a new star. If that does happen, we might see Alexa Bliss walking out as the new RAW Women’s Champion.
#1 Goldberg lays down a massive challenge at WWE Extreme Rules
"I'm not coming for the WWE Championship. I'm coming for Bobby Lashley's SOUL and I will rip it straight from his chest."@Goldberg has a clear message for The All Mighty #WWEChampion @fightbobby following what happened to his son Gage at #SummerSlam. pic.twitter.com/cszXEDeFTj
— WWE (@WWE) August 30, 2021
Extreme Rules could see the return of WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. The former Universal Champion competed at SummerSlam last month where he lost the WWE Championship match to Bobby Lashley. However, the bigger narrative was Lashley taking out his son, Gage. Following his loss, Goldberg made it clear that he doesn’t care about the title and just wants to destroy The All Mighty.
He could appear at Extreme Rules and lay down a challenge to Bobby Lashley, possibly leading to a match at Crown Jewel next month. To make things interesting, Goldberg could put his career on the line.
