We will also take a look at Riddle getting major backstage heat because of his comments on The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Riddle has been known to be a loudmouth and often gets into trouble because of his comments on top superstars. It was reported earlier that he had ‘ruffled some feathers’ backstage with his remarks on the Universal Champion.
There are a lot of interesting stories in store for you. So without any further ado, let us dive in and take a look at some of the biggest rumors and news from the world of WWE:
#5 Riddle got backstage heat in WWE because of his comments on Roman Reigns
— WWE (@WWE) September 14, 2021
RAW tag team champion Riddle admitted to IB Times that he got backstage heat for his comments targeting Roman Reigns. Riddle had said that he wasn’t impressed with Reigns and would beat him in a real fight. He also insinuated that the only reason behind Reigns’ push was his connection to The Rock.
Now, Riddle agreed that his comments were not professional and even though he stands by them, he said saying such things in public was not a wise move.
“I’m not even in that realm of competing with the Tribal Chief. He’s on another level at this moment. I think maybe I got a little too big for my britches, you know what I mean? Maybe I got a little backstage heat. Maybe a tiny bit.” said Riddle

Riddle said that he was not trying to rub anyone the wrong way with his remarks. He said that one of the reasons why he should not have made those comments was because he is on the RAW brand while Reigns is on SmackDown.
#4. Edge to be ‘out of action’ for months in WWE
Friday. Smackdown. Edge vs Rollins II. The Garden. I never thought I’d have the opportunity to wrestle in MSG again. Realistically this could be the last time I do. Let’s blow the roof off New York. pic.twitter.com/7phyUwbmJI

Former WWE Champion Edge got carried off on a stretcher on SmackDown last week following his match against Seth Rollins. The Architect put Edge through a devastating stomp at the end of the match resulting in Edge getting ‘injured’.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has revealed that Edge’s injury was a way to write him off television for the next few months. Edge is a part-time superstar in WWE and will not be featured prominently going forward.
“Edge went out on a stretcher and was taken away in an ambulance. This will explain Edge not being around for a few months,” stated Meltzer
He further stated that injury angles are a way of explaining the absence of part-time superstars like Edge.
#3. Randy Orton injured MVP on WWE RAW
— WWE (@WWE) September 17, 2021
WWE has revealed that due to an RKO from Randy Orton, MVP has suffered a broken rib and will be out indefinitely.
Orton had faced Bobby Lashley in the main event of RAW. The Viper was not successful in defeating The All-Mighty. However, Lashley did lose his WWE Championship as Big E decided to cash-in his MITB contract after the match.
Over the course of the match, Randy Orton RKO’d MVP causing the former US Champion to suffer a serious rib injury.
#2 Roman Reigns to face Drew McIntyre on WWE SmackDown
— Wrestling News (@WrestlingNewsCo) September 17, 2021
WrestlingNews.co have revealed that WWE has planned a match between Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns to take place on the October 1st edition of SmackDown.
The episode will begin the 2021 WWE Draft as well, which explains this inter-promotional match. However, it is not clear yet if the match will be on-screen or a dark match.
McIntyre and Reigns had a tremendous match last year at Survivor Series, and the fans have been wanting to see a rematch between them since then. Although this match should have been saved for a bigger event, it looks like WWE is doing everything in their power to boost the current ratings.
