WWE Hell in a Cell 2021: Full match-card predictions
In what came as a major surprise to the WWE Universe, it has been announced that WWE Hell in a Cell 2021 will be the next pay-per-view after WrestleMania Backlash. Set to take place on June 20, 2021, Hell in a Cell has taken place in either September or October of every year since 2009.
WWE Money in the Bank, which usually takes place around May or June, has been slightly postponed. The reports suggest that it has been done to hold that event in front of a live crowd in July. In any case, Hell in a Cell is one of the most exciting and punishing match stipulations in WWE history and it will be exciting to see what the company has in store for us this year.
Let’s take a look at the full match-card predictions for WWE Hell in a Cell 2021. Comment down and let us know your thoughts on the same and any other match that you think could take place at the pay-per-view next month.
#8 Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre – Hell in a Cell match for the WWE Championship
Bobby Lashley has been mighty impressive as the WWE Champion. This past Sunday at WrestleMania Backlash, Lashley defended his title successfully against Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman in a brutal triple threat match. It was Strowman who The All-Mighty pinned to win the match.
On this week’s Monday Night RAW, Drew McIntyre wanted to face Bobby Lashley, but MVP stopped him from doing so. In the main event between Lashley and Kofi Kingston, The Scottish Warrior interfered, helping Kingston pin the WWE Champion.
The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley is far from over and from the looks of it, the two could face each other inside the Hell in a Cell structure. With Kingston pinning Lashley on RAW this week, fans are speculating whether he could also be added to make this a triple threat.
While that could be a possibility, WWE might just use Kingston as another roadblock that Lashley would overcome in the build-up to WWE Hell in a Cell 2021.
Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins the WWE Championship.
#7 Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley vs. Sasha Banks for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair could have a massive task on her hands at WWE Hell in a Cell 2021. After winning the title in the main event of Night One of WrestleMania 37, her run hasn’t been that great. At WrestleMania Backlash, Belair successfully defended her title against Bayley, but it wasn’t a comprehensive victory.
The two would likely continue their feud on SmackDown, leading to a match at WWE Hell in a Cell next month. The company might also bring Sasha Banks into the feud, who hasn’t been seen on the Blue brand recently. A triple threat between these three could steal the show at the pay-per-view and provide a platform for Belair to pick up a monumental victory. WWE could also make this a Hell in a Cell match.
Prediction: Bianca Belair retains the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
#6 Sheamus (c) vs. Damian Priest for the United States Championship at WWE Hell in a Cell
Damian Priest is being groomed to become a major babyface on Monday Night RAW. The former NXT North American Champion teamed up with Bad Bunny at WrestleMania 37 to defeat the team of The Miz and John Morrison.
This past Sunday, he defeated The A-Lister at WrestleMania Backlash in a bizarre Lumberjack match that involved zombies. Following that, he defeated Morrison on RAW this week and is likely done with that feud.
Damian Priest might now set his eyes on the United States Championship, currently held by Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior has picked up a string of victories recently through his open challenges. WWE could build a feud between him and Priest for the US title leading to a match at WWE Hell in a Cell 2021 next month. This might as well turn out to be the first main roster title victory for The Archer of Infamy.
#5 AJ Styles and Omos (c) vs. T-BAR and MACE for the RAW Tag Team Championships at WWE Hell in a Cell
Former RETRIBUTION members T-BAR and MACE could get a shot at the RAW Tag Team Championships at WWE Hell in a Cell 2021. AJ Styles and Omos won the RAW tag team titles at WrestleMania 37 last month by defeating The New Day. However, their title run hasn’t been that great so far.
T-BAR and MACE could start a feud with the two on Monday Night RAW, leading to a title match at WWE Hell in a Cell. However, AJ Styles and Omos will likely hold on to the titles for a little longer.
Prediction: AJ Styles and Omos retain.
#4 Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Charlotte Flair for the RAW Women’s Championship
RAW Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley defended her title against Charlotte Flair and Asuka at WrestleMania Backlash. She went on to retain her title after pinning Asuka. Following the match, she mocked Flair as she was leaving the ringside area.
The Queen is surely not done with Ripley and will continue her quest to win the RAW Women’s Championship. We could see a singles match between the two at WWE Hell in a Cell 2021 next month. The two previously faced each other at WrestleMania 36 last year where Flair defeated Ripley to win the NXT Women’s Championship. Rhea Ripley could get revenge for that loss by defeating her at WWE Hell in a Cell and retaining her title.
#3 Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro – Hell in a Cell match
Hell in a Cell is a place where rivalries come to their conclusion. WWE has been criticized in the last few years for randomly booking this gimmick match but they could fix that this year. One feud on WWE programming currently not involving any titles that deserve to be settled inside Hell in a Cell is that between SmackDown superstars Seth Rollins and Cesaro.
The two faced each other at WrestleMania 37 where The Swiss Cyborg picked up the victory. However, the feud didn’t end there. This past Sunday at WrestleMania Backlash, Cesaro unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
Following the match, Seth Rollins came out and laid a brutal beatdown on an already injured Cesaro. The two stole the show at WrestleMania 37 and could one-up that inside Hell in a Cell next month.
Prediction: Cesaro wins.
#2 Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Otis and Chad Gable for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships
Rey Mysterio and Dominik created history at WrestleMania Backlash by becoming the first father-son duo to win the Tag Team Championships in WWE. The two defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode to win the titles.
The two could start a feud with the team of Otis and Chad Gable, The Alpha Academy, in the coming weeks on SmackDown, leading to a title match at WWE Hell in a Cell 2021. The Mysterios will likely retain the titles and then move on to a feud with The Usos.
Prediction: Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio retain.
#1 Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jimmy Uso – Hell in a Cell match for the Universal Championship
Last year, Roman Reigns battled his cousin Jey Uso in the first-ever Hell in a Cell “I Quit” match. The two stars told an amazing story throughout the match and took the entire Tribal Chief character to a whole new level. The ending of that match saw Jimmy Uso come out to save his brother from the brutal beatdown at the hands of Reigns.
Seven months have passed since then, and we might see the second part of that angle play out at this year’s Hell in a Cell. Jimmy Uso has returned to SmackDown and his defiance of Roman Reigns has made for some incredible segments. The Tribal Chief is definitely not happy with Jimmy and he might step in to teach him a lesson.
We might see Roman Reigns announce a match between him and Jimmy Uso inside Hell in a Cell with the Universal Championship on the line. The two could tell a great story with a match that could end with Jimmy being forced to acknowledge Reigns. This could ultimately lead to a heel run from The Bloodline who could dominate the Blue brand in the coming months.
