Cesaro Promises Revenge For Daniel Bryan Following Loss To Roman Reigns
Cesaro will have to move forward in his Universal Championship quest without Daniel Bryan.
In the main event of SmackDown, Roman Reigns defeated Bryan to retain his title. Per the match stipulation, Bryan has also been banished from SmackDown.
Following SmackDown, Cesaro took to Instagram and posted an emotional message, vowing to get revenge for his friend:
Immediately after the match, Cesaro ran out and began attacking Reigns. However, Jey Uso came to Reigns’ defense and attacked The Swiss Superman. The Universal Champion then delivered the con-chair to Bryan before the show went off the air.
All signs point to Cesaro next feuding with Reigns. And he may not have to wait too long for the title opportunity, with the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view now just 15 days away.
On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Bryan and Cesaro were victorious in a tag team match against Uso and Seth Rollins. Immediately after the victory, Bryan began endorsing Cesaro, and he dared Reigns to give him a Universal Championship opportunity.
Daniel Bryan Confirms His Contract Is Almost Up
But in the show’s closing segment, Reigns told Cesaro that he wasn’t on his level, and the former instead gave Bryan one final opportunity to win the title. Bryan agreed to do it at Cesaro’s insistence.
WWE has given Cesaro a major push here in 2021. The longtime fan favorite picked up two clean victories over Bryan on SmackDown in January, and he defeated Rollins via pinfall at WrestleMania 37, which marked his first singles victory at the Show of Shows.
Cesaro’s Time Has Finally Arrived
Over the years, countless WWE fans have been frustrated with the company’s refusal to give Cesaro a long overdue main event push. But the former United States Champion is finally getting the opportunity to showcase himself as a main event star. Needless to say, the program with Reigns should be nothing short of thrilling and entertaining. He has waited a long time for this.
